SLOW FASHION
LOW UNITS, HIGH QUALITY
At Variety Hour, we value sustainability and quality. Each of our prints tells a story and we want each garment to live the longest life possible.
Each collection Variety Hour releases is carefully considered; made in small quantities of 20–50 units, driven purely by demand and recut when it feels right. We don’t believe in filling warehouses with stock.
Those 20-50 units, once broken up across our 7 sizes, mean that sometimes there are as little as 3-4 units per size, which is why styles can sell out quickly.
The current cycle of oversupply, constant sales and fast fashion doesn’t benefit anyone and is changing our relationship with our clothes for the worst.
As a small business and a print label, producing in limited quantities gives us the ability to experiment and try new things. When we get it right and it's a sell out, we will recut, usually on a preorder. This model ensures customers can secure their size, helps us with order the correct quantities and in turn, limit over producing and over supply.
We are committed to creating our product with greater care, and approach the process with the aim to minimise impact on our planet and people.
All Variety Hour garments are rigorously tested and care labels are tailored for each type of fabric. All fabrics are pre-washed before production.
These are some steps we have picked up along the way that will make sure all your pieces stay beautiful and vibrant for longer. You can read more about how to best care for your VH pieces here.
