All Variety Hour prints begin their life as individual hand painted artworks in Melbourne and are adapted to create small batches of artwork, clothing and homewares.

TOURIST SS19
Running through the cane fields. Swimming in lukewarm dams in mid summer until the light was almost gone. Swatting away mosquitos. Snorkelling on the reef, jellyfish stings, and crocs sunbathing down at the creek. As time goes by, my memories of a wild sunburnt childhood in North Queensland take on a more magical spin.

My new collection of prints was inspired by this deeply personal and evolving relationship with my home town, developed and explored by taking a tourists’s perspective, blurred with the vivid iconography living in my childhood memories. The initial starting point for the entire collection was a giant ceramic crocodile statue at Mackay Harbour, a beautifully weird, kitsch and iconic emblem of the city.
