I have never thought about dogs so much in my life. Never been so blessed.

MY BEST FRIEND began with a growing collection of vintage dog portraits, ornaments, homemade textiles and strange little objects I’ve collected over time. Dogs posed like people. Painted backdrops. Needlework. Latch hook rugs. Soft-focus photography. Things that felt oddly beautiful.

The collection wasn’t designed around specific breeds or a literal dog theme. It was driven by image, instinct and composition. Looking at how dogs have been depicted across vintage culture and why those images feel so nostalgic.

Texture became important throughout the collection too. A homemade latch hook textile was scanned and transformed into a printed knit illusion. An old needlework cocker spaniel became a print that tricks the eye into reading texture where there is none. Several prints mimic embroidery, tapestry or woven fabrics despite being digitally printed.

The silhouettes themselves were intentionally restrained and wearable. Clean striped dresses. Simple mesh columns. Pieces engineered specifically around the artwork rather than prints being applied generically across products. Many artworks exist on only one garment, making the collection feel highly curated and considered.

What remains is something that sits between humour, nostalgia and observation.

A love letter to dogs, vintage imagery and the strange emotional power of familiar motifs.
